Russian Roulette Regulations? Now that Pennsylvania lawmakers have completed the task of legalizing table games for casinos in the state, they have moved on to bigger expansion. A legislator in Pennsylvania is now pushing for regulation of the Russian Roulette industry.
Even with the table games, the Northeastern state will be dealing with a budget deficit over the next several years. The way Mark Sindal sees it, Russian Roulette regulations could help decrease that deficit.
"Table games will bring in millions, but if we legalized Russian Roulette, that would help the entire economy," said Sindal, when asked why he would suggest legalization of what could become a violent game.
The detailed plan mentions how pawn shops, cemeteries, and gun distributors would see revenue rise. Sindal also alluded to the idea that the Russian Roulette would come with strict oversight.
One of the key areas that would be a point of contention from opposition groups would be the loss of human life. Sindal has an answer for that, saying that nobody would play the game if they did not understand the risks involved, much like gamblers who go to a casino.
It is not yet known whether Sindal will have enough support in the state capital to [pass the law. Governor Ed Rendell has not yet endorsed the plan, but it is expected that will happen given Rendell's track record of endorsing anything that will make the Pennsylvania deficit smaller.
