Not From Online Gambling The results of a new study that was ordered by the Online Gambling Association of America reveals that Internet gambling is actually safer than exercising. The study was conducted by B.S. and Associates, and gives online gambling activists ammunition in their upcoming battle with fitness groups.
The study surveyed 12,000 adults between the ages of twenty-five and sixty-five. The subjects were asked a variety of question relating to online gambling, fitness, and health. The results are staggering.
Eighty-five percent of those polled said that they felt more sore after going for a walk then they did when they left the computer room after gambling. Ninety-two percent admitted that they had been injured while exercising at some point in their lives.
When asked the same question about Internet gambling, only two percent of those surveyed said they had ever experienced an injury while gambling online. The most tell tale sign that online gambling was safer than exercising came when the subjects were asked if they had ever been to the hospital.
Ninety-eight percent admitted to having at least one hospital visit in their adult lives. Of those ninety-eight percent, sixty percent said they had been to a hospital because of an exercising accident, while none of the ninety-eight percent ever went to the hospital as a result of Internet gambling.
It is not yet known how the OGAA will use this scientific data, but it should help somehow. B.S. and Associates have conducted over 100,000 studies worldwide, mostly for groups that want their point of view validated.
