Healthy? If anyone has ever played the game of craps in a casino and woke up the next day feeling more alert and refreshed, there may be a reason for that. A new study indicates that people who play craps are more physically fit than those who do not.
The study was conducted by the popular B.S. and Associates. They took a group of 100 subjects, fifty of which were regular craps players, and the other fifty had never played the game. They then put the 100 subjects through routine physicals and some more intense physical workouts.
What they found was that overwhelmingly, the craps players were in better physical condition than the non-craps players. They believe they have the reason for as well.
"When people play craps for long periods of time the back and forth motion of throwing the dice and jumping up and down when they win is a form of exercise," said Dr. Billie Watkings, "done over a couple of months consistently, this has the same effect as that of a twenty minute bike ride."
Of the 100 people studied, forty-five of the fifty craps players were diagnosed as fully healthy individuals. Of the fifty non-craps players, only twenty were physically fit. The study had an accuracy level of at least five percent.
"At the end of the day, we just crunch the numbers," said B.A. and Associates President Bill Cunningham, "in this particular study, we rolled the dice 100 times, and determined our percentages based on those rolls."
