"What About The Children?" Ugh
Sports books are taking the ultimate gamble by introducing new prop bets that have to do with Representative Barney Frank's attempt to overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. The bets mostly have to do with how many times certain words will be used by the opposition.

One of the prop bets gives bettors an over/under of how many times religious groups will use the word "children" in press conferences. The total is 647. That means that any gambler taking the over needs spokespersons for the church groups to say "children" more than 647 times during the legal battle. This seems like an easy one.

Another term that now has odds is "crime". The total for the word "crime" is set at 1046. Again, it seems like an achievable number considering the amount of times that crime is linked to gambling.

For gamblers who like to try and hit their bets right on the head, there is this peculiar prop bet available. Will Spencer Bacchus at any point during the Internet gambling debate, say the phrase, "our nation's children should not be exposed to the dangers of online gambling." A bettor will get 4/1 odds if they pick yes, while having to lay 250 if they say no.

There are 10/1 odds that problem gambling comes up as an issue. The easiest of all the prop bets, according to our resident degenerate gambler, Crank Carl, is whether or not Republicans will vote the issue along party lines. A gambler must risk $10,000 to win $100, if they think Republicans will vote against online gambling.

"To me, the party lines prop is the easiest," said Cranky Carl, "I will lay $100,000 to win $1,000, and sleep easy at night knowing that Republicans will vote against Internet gambling legalization because of party affiliation."
