Si Iguhara The gambling industry throughout the world is in mourning tonight over the death of Si Iguhara. The Chinese-born Iguhara was a staple in the gambling industry for over fifty years because of some of his innovative inventions.
The online gambling industry is most tied to Iguhara thanks to his invention of the dual screen technology for online poker rooms. It is rumored that Iguhara was a big poker player back in the early nineties, and found it annoying that he had to play poker on just one screen. He developed the dual screen through years of experimentation.
The dual screen has led to millions of poker players being able to play more than one game online at once. The online casinos had Iguhara as an honorary chairman at their "We Are So Rich Because Of These People" dinner back in December of 2005.
Iguhara was also instrumental in advancing some land based casino technology. He once was extremely upset after losing $100 in a slot machine, that he punched the machine, only to have the screen break and his hand end up with twenty-seven stitches.
Because of the stitches, Iguhara could not pull the lever on the slot machine in his next visit to his local casino. Shortly after that visit, Iguhara developed the touch screen slot machine.
"This man was an innovator," said long time friend and casino manager Bill Hanson, "one time, I told Si that I was having trouble communicating across the casino with mys staff through our walkie talkies. Five days later, Si introduced me to these goofy looking ear pieces, and we, along with many other casinos, have been using them ever since."
Among Iguhara's other contributions to the gambling industry are half inch lottery pencils, NFL television contracts, and salt. It is unknown why salt was included in this list.
