Gateway To Gambling Addiiction? If you thought it was safe to eat Peanut Butter and Jelly, you had better think again. Unless you want to end up with a serious casino gambling habit, experts advise to stay away from the childhood delicatessen.
A study released on Friday has found a link between eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and obsessive casino gambling. The study, released by the well-acclaimed B.S. & Associates, has house moms all across the US scrambling for new lunch foods for their children.
The study was conducted on 100 problem gamblers. According to the study, ninety-five out of the 100 problem gamblers admitted to eating peanut butter and jelly frequently as a child. The five who did not admit to eating PB and J, claimed they were allergic to either the peanut butter, or the jelly.
Consequently, of the 100 gamblers, only two of them admitted to eating squid as children. The results have led B.S. & Associates Senior Clinical Physician Gregory Balance to classify peanut butter and jelly as gateway food to a gambling addiction.
"Our study overwhelmingly shows that peanut butter and jelly had a direct effect on how these problem gamblers developed their addictions," said Balance, "even though peanut butter and jelly is eaten by almost every child in the world, we needed to come up with a conclusion because of the money we are paid. So we conclude tat peanut butter and jelly leads to gambling addictions."
The study was released on Friday, and already peanut butter and jelly sales began to slide at supermarkets around the country. Several major gambling addiction hot lines have reported an increase in calls from mothers and fathers looking for help for their young children.
Of the calls coming into the hot line, parents have frantically described how they were unaware of the gambling connection when they gave their children the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Ironically, there has been a spike in peanut butter and jelly sales for men ages eighteen to thirty-five since the study has been released.
