In State Buildings Soon?
Lawmakers are not stopping at simply changing the laws to allow casinos in their states. One former politician believes that there should be casinos in every state building, including the capital buildings of all fifty states.

Henry Beldour claims that by placing casino games in state buildings, revenue could be raised by 2000%. He believes that there is a portion of the population that cannot be seen in regular casinos, but would gamble openly if they had the choice.

"Lawmakers and state workers are the biggest gamblers around,' said Beldour, "They will gamble on anything. One time, when I was in office, I bet a fellow politician that I could blow fifty bubbles in a minute. He won, and it cost me $2,500."

Of course, Beldour went on to say that none of his losses ever came out of his own pocket. He described a time when he raised taxes in his jurisdiction to cover a bet he made over which band had more number one hits, The Beatles or U2.

Already, Beldour has received support from some major state offices. The US Postal Service and the Firefighters Association of Somewhere have sent letters to the  government in support of having casino games in their break rooms.

Several law enforcement agencies have also expressed their interests in gambling while on the job. As of yet, there has been no lawmakers who have sponsored the idea, but that may change when they all get back from their vacations this month in Las Vegas.
