Las Vegas Casinos Las Vegas casinos have had such a hard time with the economy over the past couple of years, that they have decided to try out a new strategy for 2010. In what is being touted as "Operation Honesty," the casinos want customers to know they are coming for their money.
In the old days, the casinos in Las Vegas would try to bring people to Sin City by offering them free drinks, hookers, prostitutes (yeah, they are different), rooms, and shows. Now, they are giving away nothing.
In fact, the casinos have gone a different direction completely with this latest promotion. They are openly admitting that they could give two sh*ts about you, all they want is your money.
"Come to Vegas, Go Home Broke," is one slogan that can be seen on billboards across the country. Another one, "Leave the kids at home, and pray you have money left to feed them when you leave," has drawn the ire of family groups in the US.
In letters written to high rollers in late December, the casinos cut out the small talk and got right to the point. One excerpt from a letter that Online Craps has obtained, read, "Merry Christmas! Hurry back, and bring lots of money for us to steal!"
While other casinos in the US try the old school approaches, Las Vegas casinos are again showing why they remain the top in their industry. They used to hide their greed, but now they simply want your money, and if getting it takes honesty, they are willing to try.
