Hail To The NFL!
A Nevada lawmakers has proposed legislation that would make the Super Bowl a national holiday. The premise of the legislation is that the NFL is treated like they are above all other sports leagues, so therefore their big day should be a holiday.

Sports books in Las Vegas took in over $80 million in bets on the Super Bowl this year, and that had some executives in Vegas wondering why the league pretends that gambling is not part of their sport.

"If we shut down our sports books on Super Bowl week, the NFL would not have half of the viewers they have now," said one executive who wished to remain anonymous, "I've had enough of this perfect image the NFL likes to project. Why don't they just make the Monday after the Super Bowl a national holiday?"

And with that quote, a Nevada lawmaker immediately started working on legislation to make the Super Bowl a national holiday. Part of the bill would require all churches to stop Sunday Masses in order to acknowledge the NFL.

Another stipulation in the Bill is that anyone with birthdays on the day of the Super Bowl would have to celebrate on a different day. "After all, the NFL is the ruler of the Universe," said the lawmaker proposing the Bill.

There is a good chance that the Bill passes in Congress because of the power of NFL lobbyists in Washington. When Delaware tried to legalize single game sports betting, the NFL and their highly paid and connected lawyers destroyed the idea in court.

With little left to stand in the way, it appears that the NFL will soon be even more holier than they already believe they are. So sit back, relax, and take in the holiday that will soon be known as Super Bowl Sunday.
